The University of Connecticut and Massachusettes renewed an old rivalry last week, as the former Yankee Conference rivals met. In their first year in the FBS, UMass played like it bowing out at 37-0. The Huskies held them to less than 60 yards of total offense. UConn always plays tough at home as a dog. This team has a lot of experience and answers on defense as well as a dependable ball-control running back in Lyle McCombs. The Huskies may have another answer at QB. They struggled at the QB position last year but JuCo transfer Chandler Witmer threw for over 200 yards in the opener. NC State had a battle on their hands last week and fell to a good Tennessee team at the Georgia Dome by a pair of TDs. That was a tough, physical game, and the Wolfpack may take some of it out on Connecticut, who really barely had to break a sweat in their opener. Mike Glennon threw four INTs in that one and UConn is one of the best at getting into the passing lanes and bringing them back for six points. It's early, but the Huskies are now 9-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record. NC State is just 9-26 int heir last 35 games on the road when asked to lay points including 5-18 ATS as a road favorite of up to 7 points. Play on UConn here.
