Northern Illinois will enter this one with the No. 21 ranked defense in the country allowing just 18.3 ppg. The fact that Navy will provide a one-dimensional attack should allow the Huskies to stack the box with eight or even nine to stop the Navy’s triple option. Navy will keep the clock moving almost every time they have the ball as they throw the ball less than 10 times a game. Offensively the Huskies rank in the bottom third of all NCAA teams and have difficulty sustaining drives. The Huskie defense thrives at home, and has played 17-4 UNDER in their last 21 home games including 9-1-1 UNDER in their last eleven. Meanwhile, the Navy’s triple option has been grounded on turf as they have played 7-1 UNDER in their last eight. I like this one to go UNDER the total.
