The Houston offense took a blow with the loss of Case Keenam, but the down-shift got back in gear with a 42-point performance a week ago. The UCLA loss earlier in the season didn't look good until the Bruins went to Texas and beat the Horns easily. While the Cougars have taken some of the air out of the ball, the running game has been impressive as Bryce Beall is carrying for over 6 yards per carry. Mississippi State is still trying to get over the hump with just nine wins over last two seasons and they remain an up and down team. While they have gotten good mileage out of two QBs, the interceptions are killing them as they have recorded as many interceptions as TDs this season (eight). Vic Ballard has been explosive, getting into the end-zone, but just 45 touches is puzzling as the rest of the ground game is very ordinary with Relf, Perkins and Elliott carrying 115 times for 442 yards - under 4 ypc. The Bulldogs' on again off again mentality is showing strong as they are 2-10 ATS off a passing effort, topping the 280 mark in their last game. The Cougars are flying high at home going 7-0 ATS here since last season. Under Kevin Sumlin, this Cougars team is 10-1 ATS at home. The opportunity to win one against the SEC should have them inspired. Houston gets the nod.
