NEW ORLEANS BOWL - Appalachian State has been in a Bowl game the last three years and won all three, including a 34-0 whitewash of Toledo in the 2017 Dollar General Bowl. The Mountaineers picked up where they left off and have a current 10-2 record and 8-4 ATS. The Mountaineers have won five in a row, topped by a 30-19 win over UL Lafayette to win the Sun Belt Championship. They did it on the ground, racking up 225 yards on 44 carries for 5.1 yards per rush and were led by Darrynton Evans, who ran for 111 yards on 17 carries. Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill is 2-5 both straight-up and ATS in Bowl games and Mark Ivey will be the interim coach for Appalachian State following Scott Satterfield's departure to take the Louisville job. The Mountaineers have some impressive defensive stats as they're third in the country in passing yards allowed and tied for #14 in interceptions. Middle Tennessee ended the regular season with a 27-25 loss to UAB and the Blue Raiders are 1-6 ATS their last seven December games while the Mountaineers have covered their last four non-conference games. The UNDER is 8-1-1 in Middle Tennessee's last 10 games following a loss and 12-5-1 its last 18 games after an ATS loss. QB Brent Stockstill (coach's son) has had an impressive career at MTSU and this will be his last game, but he'll have a tough time against the Mountaineer secondary. Take Appalachian State and the UNDER.
