Middle Tennessee State at Iowa

Iowa is off to a 3-0 start and it has won six in a row going back to last season and it comes off a bye week after a close 18-17 win at Iowa State. The week before Iowa shut out Rutgers 30-0 as an 18-point favorite. The Hawkeyes have allowed an average of 10.3 points per game and that is goood for seventh in the country. They have covered five of their last seven non-conference games and five of seven following an ATS loss. Middle Tennessee is just 2-5 ATS its last seven September games and 1-4 ATS their last five overall dating to last season. Middle Tennessee lost a lot from last season most notably quarterback Brent Stockstill, the coach's son, and five defensive starters. The Blue Raiders lost 41-18 as a 6.5-point underdog to Duke two weeks ago and then had a bye. MTSU was outyarded 463-339 by the Blue Devils, who had four touchdown passes by Quentin Harris. Look for the Hawkeyes to cover the big number and play Iowa.
