Even when he had Andrew Luck at Stanford, coach Jim Harbaugh liked a run-oriented offense. Now he is rebuilding at Michigan with little to work with on a 2014 offense that was awful, just 20.9 points per game, ranked 64th in rushing and 112th in passing. Michigan QBs threw 10 TDs and 18 picks. The strength is the defense for new defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, inheriting a good group that should be one of the better units in the Big 10. LBs Joe Bolden and Ben Gedeon are strong, and the D-line returns junior DTs Chris Wormley and Ryan Glasgow. Michigan is 6-1 UNDER the total in non-conference games, plus 5-1 UNDER in September. They take a long road trip to Utah, and Kyle Whittingham’s team won nine games and returns six on offense with five on defense. Utah is also run-oriented with 190 yards rushing per game in 2014, returning RB Devontae Booker (1,512 yards, 5.2 yards per carry). Marcus Williams returns to the defensive line after posting 59 tackles, along with Tevin Carter and Andre Godfrey as this defense allowed 24.9 points per game (43rd in the nation). The Utes are on a 17-9 run UNDER the total, including 7-3 UNDER at home. This plays UNDER the total.
