LENDING TREE BOWL - Miami Ohio won six of its last seven games topped off by a 26-21 victory over Central Michigan in the MAC Championship game. Brett Gabbert finished 14-of-27 for 196 yards and a touchdown and Jack Sorenson caught eight passes for 123 yards and a TD against the Chippewas. Gabbert, who is the younger brother of Blaine Gabbert, ended the regular season with 2,163 passing yards and 11 TDs. UL Lafayette had won six in a row before losing 45-38 to Appalachian State in the Sun Belt Championship game. The Ragin' Cajuns are laying about two touchdowns in this game, but the teams are close defensively with UL Lafayette ranked #51 in yards allowed compared to #58 for Miami. The Redhawks have covered the spread in five of their last seven games overall and they are 9-4 ATS their last 13 after an ATS win dating to last season. Miami had only 10 returning starters this season and will be playing in a Bowl game for the first time since 2016. There is plenty of motivation for the Redhawks, who are getting too many points to ignore in this matchup. Play the Red Hawks. Also take the UNDER. Miami is 5-3 to the UNDER on the road this season, scoring just 18.5 points per game. Lafayette is 7-4 to the UNDER this season in games played on turf, where they have held opponents to 17.9 points per game. Under head coach Chuck Martin, the Red Hawks are 12-4 UNDER after back-to-back games in which they forced one or fewer turnovers. This total is set too high. Take the generous points on Miami Ohio and also play the UNDER.
