UAB has had a disappointing season with a 6-6 record after going 9-4 last year and the coaching situation has been unsettling as Bill Clark resigned in June due to back problems and Bryant Vincent took over and now Trent Dilfer has been hired as the permanent coach although he won't be head coach in this game. The Blazers are just 4-8 ATS and 1-6 ATS their last seven games and they are #56 in the country in total yards allowed and #95 in rushing yards allowed. UAB did defeat Louisiana Tech 37-27 in its final regular season game, but didn't cover as an 18.5-point favorite and DeWayne McBride ran wild with 272 yards rushing and QB Dylan Hopkins didn't have to do much else and threw only 14 passes and completed seven for the Blazers. Miami won last year's Frisco Football Classic bowl game 27-14 over North Texas. The RedHawks won three of their last four regular season games and Aveon Smith has been the quarterback the last two games and the RedHawks won both and Smith has thrown for 1,137 yards with nine TD passes on the season. Miami has the motivational edge with the Blazers playing for an interim and lame-duck coach and Miami is 7-0 ATS its past seven neutral-site games. UAB is 0-5 ATS following a win. Take Miami-OH ATS as a Max Play, and book a second play on the moneyline.
