SUN BOWL: The Sun Bowl has delivered a good matchup pitting the Miami Florida Hurricanes vs. the Washington State Cougars. These teams both finished the regular season at 8-4. The Hurricanes' four losses saw three of them come to Clemson, North Carolina, and Florida State, so they may be better than their 8-4 record indicates. The Cougars opened the season with a horrible loss to Portland State at home 24-17, and it looked like a long season was ahead of them. To their credit, they rebounded with a couple of big wins vs. Arizona, and UCLA, but once again they closed the season as they opened it by getting trounced in their rivalry game to Washington 45-10. Washington throws the ball a lot, and most think they are a great passing team, but the fact is that the big yards are based on volume. The Cougars generate seven yards per pass attempt to teams that allow 7.2, so in actuality, they are slightly below average, and can't run the ball effectively.
