BOCA RATON BOWL - Memphis finished its season winning and covering three of its last four games. They topped it off with a 48-44 win over Houston as a six-point underdog with Riley Ferguson completing 30-of-45 passes for 409 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions against the Cougars. The junior quarterback has completed 63.8 percent of his passes this season for 3,326 yards and 28 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Doroland Dorceus has 783 net rushing yards on 6.2 yards per carry while Anthony Miller has 84 catches for 1,283 yards and 11 touchdowns. Western Kentucky has won seven straight but lost its head coach, Jeff Brohm, who was hired by Purdue and will be coached by defensive coordinator Nick Holt in this game. The Hilltoppers hired Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford to serve as its next head coach. Mike White passed for 4,027 yards this season with 34 touchdown passes and six interceptions. Anthony Wales averaged 114.7 yards per game on 6.8 yards per carry and Taywan Taylor caught 89 passes for 1,586 yards and 16 touchdowns. Memphis is 6-0 ATS its last six games against Conference USA teams and Western Kentucky is 0-4 ATS its last four non-conference contests making this a pedigree call on the American Athletic Association. The posted total in this matchup is near 79 points and the Tigers did not allow more than seven points in two of their last four games, and Western Kentucky in two of its last last three. A team playing from a tougher conference against an interim coach are two positive factors for a Bowl team. Take Memphis on the moneyline and the UNDER.
