Massachusetts at Auburn

Massachusetts stunned the college football world by winning a game over an FBS foe for only the second time in four years when the Minutemen defeated New Mexico State 41-30 in a game where 48 points were scored in the fourth quarter, which were more than the posted total for the game and it went OVER by 26 points. Taisun Phommachanh completed 10 of 17 passes for 192 yards and was the Minutemen's leading rusher with 96 yards. The Aggies racked up 458 total yards, including 210 on the ground and somehow found a way to lose. The Minutemen shouldn't get too giddy though as they travel to Auburn to face the Tigers and their new coach Hugh Freeze, who likes to run up scores against inferior opponents. Freeze is 20-6 ATS against teams with .333 or below winning percentages. Auburn went OVER six of their last seven games in 2022 and his teams at Liberty averaged 33.3 points in four years. Robby Ashford threw for 1,613 yards and seven TDs and seven picks for the Tigers in 2022, but it appears Michigan State transfer Payton Thorne has emerged as the starting QB and Ashford is uncertain with an oblique strain. The offensive line is experienced and the Tigers have plenty of talent at running back. Massachusetts is 0-5 ATS following its rare wins and 0-5 ATS after scoring at least 40 points its previous game. Take Auburn and the OVER.
