For Dana Holgersen the path to West Virginia came through Texas Tech, Houston, and Oklahoma State. Everyone is certainly aware of the offensive genius he brings by way of what he did at those schools. He is now in his second year and West Virginia is joining the resume. Last week they put up 655 yards against Marshall, with QB Geno Smith has completing 88% of his passes with 10 TDs and 0 INTs. Needless to say, he is now on the Heisman hype list. Maryland was horrible last year at 2-10 and Randy Edsall did not have such a good recruiting year here. He also had a bad record at UConn and is now handed the task of trying to defend West Virginia in Morgantown. This Mountaineers offense is way beyond any of those, and the Maryland offense has scored 57 points the last two weeks vs. Temple and UConn but that is very deceptive. They did it on 539 total yards, scoring at the rate of 9.45 yards per point. That is unsustainable, especially for a weak offense. This one will get ugly early, and Holgersen has shown the penchant to score all he can. The Terps are an ugly 0-9 ATS under Edsall after a loss. Make it an even 10 here. Play on West Virginia.
