Coach Randy Edsel and his Maryland Terps have had a trying and disappointing season. They went through four QB's, and had to use a 5th - a converted linebacker - to run the offense. The offense struggled to begin with but with the injuries it became over-matched every week. The Terps have produced 18 points or less over the last five games. The defense at one time was stout and yielded very little, but without an offense to carry their fair share the defense has spent too much time on the field and is breaking down. The defense has allowed 40 ppg over the last three after going the entire season prior to the last three, allowing 27 or less. North Carolina has an offense that generates nearly 500 yards per game, and a broken Maryland defense isn't going to have success here. The offense just can't generate much of anything. The Terps are now 0-8 ATS after allowing 200+ on the ground and 2-13 ATS under Edsel following a loss. The Heels get it done at home as they are now 7-1 ATS in their last eight here. All Heels here.
