Maryland at Minnesota

The Big-10 has long been known for being a defense-first Conference. They lead all conferences with a total posted of fewer than 47 points going back many years. They have 50 more of them than any other Conference. That doesn't seem to mean a lot until you look closer and see that 54% of all Big-10 games fail to make the total when it is posted at 47 or fewer points. This will be the highest conference game total for Minnesota so far this season, and seven of nine were posted lower last season. Maryland has faced a schedule of the higher scoring teams in the Conference, and most of the better defenses are still to come, starting with Minnesota who allows fewer than 16 PPG. Maryland ranks just 73rd in yards per play, while the Minnesota defense ranks 12th allowing just 4.5 yards per play. I like this one to go UNDER the total.
