Louisville won nine of its first 10 games before fading down the stretch. Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson, who was the first player in FBS history to pass for more than 3,500 yards and rush for more than 1,500 yards in a season, is back for the Cardinals. Also, Jackson totaled 51 touchdowns, including 30 passing and 21 rushing. Louisville returns nine starters on defense, including a stellar secondary led by junior cornerback Jaire Alexander and senior safety Chucky Williams. Senior linebacker Trevon Young missed the entire season with a hip injury, but he'll be back this year. Purdue is 1-4 ATS its last five September games and 1-4 ATS its last five non-conference contests. Jeff Brohm takes over the head coaching duties and has a huge job ahead of him as his school has won only nine games the last last four years, including a 3-9 record in 2016 while going 5-6 ATS. Purdue was last in the country in turnover margin and last in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game. The Boilermakers lost their final seven games and allowed an average of 38 points for the season. Quarterback David Blough is questionable for this matchup with a shoulder injury. It's going to take time for Brohm to turn this program around. Play Louisville.
