Louisville at Virginia

Both of these teams are off to winning starts and this is the ACC opener for both. Louisville's defense has bounced back from the opening loss to Alabama, allowing 24 total points the last two games. Louisville coach Bobby Petrino has the reputation as an offensive guru, so totals are high, but note the Cardinals are on a 6-1 run UNDER. And for this game he has a new quarterback, as redshirt freshman Malik Cunningham will make his first collegiate start. The Cardinals average 5.02 yards per play this season, ranking #12 in the ACC and #109 in the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision. They have just 10 plays of 20 yards or more, tied for #100 in the FBS. Louisville is also 7-3 UNDER the total after getting 200+ yards rushing in their previous game. Now they head out on the road against a Virginia defense that is allowing 21.3 points per game. Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall likes to run the pigskin on offense and they average 220.7 yards rushing - #37 in the nation. With the Cavaliers 30-12 UNDER the total following a victory, plus 22-10-1 UNDER in conference games, look for more defense than offense. Play the UNDER.
