The oddsmakers are getting bullish on Syracuse as they realize the public has begun to take notice. The last time the Orange were posted as a favorite in anything but MAC Conference game was back in 2006-07 when they went off as a -1.5 point favorite against UConn. I think the oddsmakers have overdone it here. Syracuse will be in a role reversal as they have been the dog since that game vs. Connecticut. Louisville is a very capable opponent having pitched a pair of shutouts in their last four games and having held six teams to 24 or less points. The Syracuse defense has carried them, but the offense has failed to top the 20-point mark in their six games vs. FBS opponents. This is anticipated to be a low-scoring game, where 6 points has a lot more value. The Cardinal were held down by Pitt last week, totaling fewer than 275 yards of offense. That is a good sign for Louisville this week as they are 9-1 ATS after a game where they gained less than 275 yards. This has been an underdog series with the dog prevailing in each of the last six, so I like Louisville in this one.
