Mississippi State is 1-2 in the SEC with a conference game against Kentucky on deck, so this contest is not a major focus for them. The Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last five non-conference games, as well as 2-7 ATS in October. They can't let another SEC game slip away, blowing one already against LSU by 2 points, a loss to A&M and a 17-9 close win over Auburn. QB Dak Prescott is still getting over a stomach virus and the offense is likely to go to the ground game which will keep the scoring down. Mississippi State is 5-0 UNDER the total after a victory and 50-23-1 UNDER following a spread loss. Louisiana Tech (4-2) is having a strong campaign and this game means more to them than the home team. La Tech has heated up with three straight wins since losing back-to-back games at Western Kentucky and Kansas State in September. The Bulldogs possess balance on offense and a quarterback, Jeff Driskel, with plenty of experience facing SEC defenses. Tech is averaging almost 40 points per game behind Driskel and RB Kenneth Dixon, who is back from an ankle injury. LA Tech is 8-3 ATS on the road and 5-0 ATS against the SEC. This is the toughest defense La Tech will face all year, a unit that gave up just three touchdown passes in the first half of the season led by linemen Chris Jones, Ryan Brown and A.J. Jefferson. With Mississippi State looking ahead, look for a close one and a defensive duel. Play the dog and the UNDER here.
