The Kent State Golden Flashes are off and running to a 4-1 start while Black Knights are just 1-4. Those numbers truly represent what looks to be a mismatch, until you look at the Kent State schedule. The Flashes four wins came against Towson, Buffalo, Ball State and Eastern Michigan. Army is always a handful for teams that are not used to seeing the option at work. Army has it going in a big way this season as they lead the nation in rushing yards per game at just shy of 400 per contest, generating a healthy 5.7 yards per tote. They have played a healthy schedule which included Wake Forest and Boston College from the ACC, and a 1-point loss vs. a very good Northern Illinois squad. They have to be feeling pretty good as they beat BC last week 34-31, outgaining the Eagles by 175 yards. The Golden Flashes aren't as good defensively as they were a year ago having allowed two teams to score in the 40s on them already. They have certainly had their problems outside the conference where they are just 3-13 ATS in their last 16. The Black Knights are more comfortable running the option at home where they are 6-2 ATS in their last eight. Army is the better team and getting points at home. Take the Black Knights in this one.
