This Longhorns squad is not the same talented team we have come to expect in Mack Brown era. They are pretty good, but that defensive swagger is not there this year and the offense has been up and down. David Ash has had a good season thus far, but still has shown some vulnerability as he makes bad decisions at times. The Texas defense, which is usually their strong point, has allowed 30 points or more in five of their last seven games. The Cyclones are never considered a contender in the Big-12, but they certainly have become very competitive the last couple of seasons. Last year they beat Texas Tech on the road and shocked Oklahoma State at home. This year they surprised TCU on the road and gave unbeaten Kansas State their biggest scare of the year, losing by just six. Iowa State is certainly capable of keeping this one close and the Horns are just 1-7 ATS in their last eight at home vs. a team with a winning road record. Play on Iowa State.
