The Dan Hawkins era in Colorado is over. What affect will that have on this team? I think a good one. The Buffs were absolutely awful with him at the helm and I think a fresh start will give this team a reason to play. You have to go back to Thanksgiving week five years ago to find the last time an Iowa State team was favored on the road in a Big-12 game. They upset a Texas team that is far overrated and had Nebraska on the ropes at home last week. But the problem there was that Nebraska was without Taylor Martinez and Cody Green could not move the team at all. So that sets up an overlay in favor of Colorado here. The Buffs are not a good football team, but they are more than competitive at home. On the road they are 1-4 but at home they are a .500 team, outscoring their foes by a 27-24 average score. They have beaten a good Hawaii team and Georgia here this season and took both Texas Tech and Baylor to the last possession. So they can handle Iowa State. This is a rare road-favorite appearance by the Cyclones, who are just 1-4 ATS the last five in this role. The Buffs have failed to cover just one of their last five as a home dog. Colorado gets this one.
