Iowa at Wisconsin

A pair of powerhouse Big 10 defenses clash in this one. The Iowa defense ranked in the Top 10 in points allowed last season and is even better in 2015. The key players are back, led by LB Bo Bower, LB Josey Jewell and DE Drew Ott, while cornerback Desmond King is one of the conference's rising stars. And senior safety Jordan Lomax was named to Lott Impact Trophy watch list. Coach Kirk Ferentz has demanded that they run the football more to control the clock and the ground game has been impressive. Iowa is on a 38-18-3 run UNDER the total on the road, as well as 27-13-2 UNDER against a team with a winning home mark. Iowa has allowed 84.0 rushing yards per game and joins Navy as the only teams yet to allow a rushing score. Wisconsin is equally fierce on defense with eight starters back. The last three games they've allowed a total of three points! The Badgers aren't as potent on offense without RB Melvin Gordon, now in the NFL, ranking ninth in the Big 10 in rushing average. They have inexperienced rushers behind an offensive line with three new starters. Wisconsin is 8-1-1 UNDER the total after a spread cover and 12-3-1 UNDER following a win of more than 20 points. This shapes up as a defensive duel, especially with heavy winds expected Saturday in Madison (15-25 MPH). Only one way to go - play the UNDER.
