The Fighting Illini just haven't had much fight recently. They opened the season a year ago at 6-0 and then the free fall began as they lost all six of their remaining regular season games. The downward spiral has continued into this season as they stand at 2-5 for the season, making them now 2-11 in their last 13 regular season tilts. When you consider that one of the wins was vs. Charleston Southern, things don't look so good in Champagne. The Hoosiers opened with a pair of wins, but have proceeded to lose five straight. But, the situation is not the same. Keep in mind though that three of those Indiana losses came to Ohio State, Michigan State, and an upstart Northwestern team. Neither of these two teams has shown much defense, but the one thing Indiana can do is put points on the board. They average nearly 35 points per game and they can certainly outscore their bad defense against Illinois. The Illini are now a woeful 4-13 ATS after allowing 40+ in their previous game, and 0-5 ATS after allowing 450+ yards in their previous game. Illinois has lost 16 of their last 20 games against the spread vs. bad defensive teams (those allowing 31+ ppg). Take Indiana here.
