Illinois at Rutgers

It has to be tough being a Rutgers fan, coach, player, or alum right now. The Scarlet Knights have taken it on the chin in two straight weeks to the tune of 136-0. Last week they recorded their first first down with nine minutes left in the game vs. second and third string players. Ouch! The offense totalled just 39 yards for the game. Rutgers does a lot of running as the last three games have seen them run it 127 times, and pass just 58. The problem is that they don't do anything well offensively, generating 538 yards on 185 plays in their last three, or 2.9 yards a play and just seven points. Illinois is just 1-4 but all four of the losses have come against winning teams, so the points they have allowed is not representative of what to expect for this one. As if Rutgers does not have enough trouble, QB Wes Lunt was hurt and is questionable for this game. Illinois is 11-2 to the UNDER as a road favorite of seven or less, and 33-16 to the UNDER when coming off two straight conference losses. This one stays UNDER.
