Illinois at Nebraska

Premium Pick

Illinois has a scheduling advantage in this matchup, coming off a bye while Nebraska had a couple tough games against Oregon and Northwestern the last two weeks. Nebraska is 1-7 ATS at home against teams with rest. Illinois QB Wes Lunt has completed 62.2 percent of his passes with six touchdowns for 222 yards per game. Ke'Shawn Vaughn is averages 4.7 yards per carry and Illinois averages 157 yards on the ground. That is a big improvement from 2015 when the Illini finished last in the Big Ten in rushing. Nebraska was fortunate to win last year's matchup 14-13 as a three-point favorite. But for this matchup, the Nebraska offensive line is in trouble. During camp, the Huskers who were already going with three new starters on the O-line, lost projected starter Jerald Foster to a season-ending knee injury. Now they might be without another starter as right guard Tanner Farmer is listed as doubtful with a high-ankle sprain. Huskers head coach Mike Riley also called this Illinois defensive front the best his team will face all season. This is too huge a number for the Huskers to cover in this scheduling spot and too many question marks on the offensive line. Grab the points with Illinois.
