Illinois at Iowa

Iowa's strong defense combined with a weak offense brought about what is believed to be the lowest posted total in college football history last week at 27 or 27.5 points and the Hawkeyes and Rutgers still didn't go OVER in a 22-0 Iowa win. However, a closer examination of the stats reveals that Iowa QB Deacon Hill threw for 223 yards and a TD and the Hawkeyes racked up 402 yards of offense. Illinois has gone OVER three straight games following its 48-45 overtime win over Indiana and the Fighting Illini score 23.8 points per game and allow 29.3. Illinois QB John Paddock completed 24 of 36 for 507 yards and four TDs against the Hoosiers and Reggie Love III ran for 140 yards. Illinois coach Bret Bielema says starter Luke Altmyer has cleared concussion protocol and will start this week for the Illini despite Paddock's heroics.
