Idaho at BYU

Idaho loves to throw the football under head coach Robb Akey, but the weather conditions for this game are bad for passing teams as the report predicts 30 degrees with 10-20 mile per hour winds. The Idaho defense is terrible, giving up 28 points per game. They are off an emotional comeback with a 32-29 win at San Jose. Idaho trailed 20-0, but rallied with a 22-point fourth quarter. Idaho also had a 21-11 home loss to La. Tech with four turnovers, while allowing 353 yards. The Vandals are 13-28 ATS in their last 41 conference games and face a huge BYU offensive line. BYU has had two weeks to prepare and the Cougars are on a 12-5 SU, 11-5 ATS run since last season. Sophomore QB Jake Heaps (3 TDs, 5 INTs) disappointed, so they turned to junior QB Riley Nelson (12 TDs, 5 INTs) and won five in a row. That win streak ended the last game, as TCU took a 38-28 win to dump BYU’s five-game winning streak and send the Cougars into their bye week wondering what might have been. BYU has now had two weeks to rest, prepare and stew about that defeat, and have home field. The Cougars are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a favorite of -10.5 or greater.
