Georgia Tech vs. Boston College

Boston College led the nation in defense in 2015 in total yards allowed and fourth in scoring defense with 15.3 points per game. On the other hand, the Eagles were #121 on offense scoring just 17.2 points per game and #125 with 111.2 passing yards per game ahead of only run-oriented teams Navy, Army and Georgia Southern. Quarterback Darius Wade was lost three games into the season due to an injury and the Eagles went on to lose six games even while allowing 20 or fewer points. It appears transfer quarterback Patrick Towles will get the starting job this year and the Eagles return seven starters from that stellar defensive unit. Georgia Tech, of course, will continue to run its clock-eating triple-option even though the Yellow Jackets are coming off a 3-9 season while scoring an average of only 29 points per game overall, but just 21.7 their last 10 games. Georgia Tech figures to have a better pass rush with three returning starters on the defensive line. Justin Thomas returns as starting QB and he was second on the team with 488 rushing yards last year, which is indicative of Paul Johnson's run-dominated offense. Georgia Tech went UNDER in four of its last five games last year and Boston College has gone UNDER in 34 of its last 51 conference games. The game is being played in Dublin, Ireland at 7:30 a.m. Eastern time, which in itself could be enough to have an effect on the offenses. Take the UNDER.
