Georgia State at South Alabama

Georgia State came aboard the FBS in 2013, and their first two seasons were not much fun as they went a combined 1-21. They made a lot of progress last year to earn a Bowl bid. The Panthers are just 2-5 on the season, but the schedule has been exceedingly difficult as the five losses have come at the hands of teams that have a combined record of 24-12 - none under .500. Despite the tough schedule, the defense has been above average. South Alabama has played their top two opponents on their schedule to a pair of wins vs. Mississippi and San Diego State. The problem is that they also beat the worst team on their schedule in Nichols State by one point as a -17-point favorite. Their other two closely lined games of +2 and +4 both resulted in losses. This is one of those teams that seems to play to the level of the competition, and Georgia State is a dangerous 2-5 vs. a team that plays that way. Make the play on Georgia State.
