The Oddsmakers are in a quandary here as they appear to be calling this one a dead heat, considering the obligatory three points awarded for the Gamecocks being the home team. Steve Spurrier has always been considered an offensive coach, but he has always had great defenses at SC. In the last five years he has held 34 teams to 20 or less. The 34 total includes 21 at home. He has also been good at covering pointspreads here where he is 33-25-1. That includes a 29-9 ATS mark int he first-half of the season. He is also 73-49 ATS in his coaching career in conference games. This is always a solid defensive team, but this year they return almost everything on offense. That has to be a concern for Georgia coach Mark Richt who has just five defensive starters returning from a year ago. The Georgia offense is in-tact except for the most crucial position - QB. Aaron Murray had decent numbers, but the competition and venue will be completely different here. Georgia is spilling a lot of cash in conference games at just 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 and have covered just one of the last six vs. SC. I like South Carolina in this one.
