Fresno State vs. Rice

Fresno State had a huge season last year, especially on offense. Much of that offense is now in the NFL, and this season was not going to be as easy of a ride as it was last season. Despite the losses, the Bulldogs somehow fought their way to the Mountain West Championship game against Boise State. The Bulldogs showed they had a long way to go on both sides of the ball as they opened their season at 0-3, allowing over 50 points in all three games. But since then they have made great strides as the 53.3 points per they allowed in the first three, became 28 points per game in their last nine. That has gone down to 23.3 points per game in their last four, including just 28 at Boise State in the MWC Championship game. That was the lowest Boise State home total points scored in well over two years. Rice finished at 7-5, losing two of their last three, and the last one saw them give up 76 points to LA Tech. The schedule was highly suspect as six of the seven Rice wins cane against teams with four wins or less. I think the records are not the true indication of where these teams started the season and where they are now. Take Fresno State to pull the minor upset.
