Fresno State at Washington

Fresno State was able to land a good head coach in Jeff Tedford, who knows how to develop quarterbacks and keep defenses off balance. He also knows the opponent, as Tedford served as a consultant for the Washington Huskies last season. Fresno is off a loss to Alabama but is 7-0 ATS after scoring fewer than 20 points the last game, plus 6-1 ATS after a straight-up defeat. Washington is a huge favorite because of the great turnaround from a year ago. However, the Huskies were lethargic in a 30-14 season-opening win over Rutgers and possessed the ball fewer than 22 minutes. The defense is also dealing with major losses already with injuries to LB D.J. Beavers (out indefinitely, foot) and the suspension of defensive back Austin Joyner (two games). Washington is 13-28 ATS after a game with a turnover margin of +3 or better, so back the gigantic dog and play Fresno State.
