Fresno State at Utah State

Fresno State has had a week off to enjoy the fruits of their 28-14 win over Cincinnati. They better be prepared, because this Aggie team is pretty good, especially offensively. Utah State went to Norman to open the season, where the Sooners expected to push them around, but the Aggies stood toe-to-toe on the road with the powerful Sooners, falling 7 short on the scoreboard. But, they matched Oklahoma yard-for-yard in the box score. The Sooners struggled despite a +2 in the turnover battle. Utah State followed up that very impressive performance with a 38-17 win last week. Fresno State has made two trips to Romney Stadium, and left shaking their heads both times. The first meeting in ‘06-‘07 saw Fresno a prohibitive 25-point favorite, and when the gun sounded left with a loss. Two years ago they returned as a 16-point chalk, and barely escaped with a 2-point win. This Aggie team is better, and Fresno will once again have their hands full. The Bulldogs are sending backers to the poorhouse in conference games at 10-24 ATS in their last 34, and have failed to cover each of the last five vs. Utah State. The underdog is 30-6 ATS in this series and Utah State has covered five of the last six. Under head coach Pat Hill, Fresno is 40-54 ATS as a favorite and 43-59 ATS in-conference.
