Florida State at Louisville

The odds makers have this one pegged as a shootout. The total is well into the 60s, but I see a different kind of game that centers around ball control as each tries to limit plays by the others' explosive offensive potential. Both teams have some gaudy offensive numbers to start the season, but at the same time, neither have been challenged the way they will here, nor I doubt either have had to bare down much to show their true defensive capacity, and it is strong on both teams' part. Last year's game would have fallen shy of this total, and in fact Louisville averaged just 51 total points per game in the ACC a year ago, and Florida State averaged just 45 total points per game a year ago in conference play. And both averaged significantly more outside the conference, so what we have seen so far has just driven the total up, and there is now room to work with. Make the play on the UNDER.
