Florida International at UTEP

Florida International won last year's matchup 52-12. This time around, the Golden Panthers are underdogs even though both teams are 1-4 and FIU is coming off a win over Florida Atlantic and the Miners lost at Louisiana Tech for their fourth straight loss. FIU quarterback Alex McGough was 15-of-30 for 199 yards and a touchdown in last week's win and Alex Gardner rushed for 119 yards on 27 carries. The Panthers totaled 270 yards on the ground on 5.5 yards per carry. QB Ryan Metz was 20 of 28 for 215 yards for UTEP in the loss to Louisiana Tech, but he was knocked out and is out for this game due to a concussion. Zack Greenlee has started three games for the Miners this season and will get the start in this one. Aaron Jones is averaging 132 rushing yards per game for the Miners. These teams have similar statistics with both teams averaging nearly 335 yards of offense. FIU allows 337.2 yards per game compared to 424.8 for UTEP, which has been outscored 169-35 its last four games, including a 66-14 loss to Army.
