Florida International at Massachusetts

It has been a tough go for Massachesetts since jumping into the FBS frey with a woeful 8-57 record since joining. They are making progress on the defensive side of the ball, as we saw against Florida, going down to the Swamp and limiting the Gators to 24 points. They have allowed 34.4 points per game since joining the FBS, but over their last seven games, they have allowed a rather stingy 21.4 points per game. And no team has topped 26 on them. The offense remains sluggish, averaging just 8 points per game in the FBS, and a pair of 7s so far this year is taking away from that total, not adding. FIU has struggled offensively so far this season at 13.5 points per game. These teams stack up as being pretty close, but neither poses much of an offensive threat, and Massachusetts has dug in defensively this season while the offense has continued to sputter.
