Florida International at Arkansas State

The Panthers finished with a winning record with their bowl win last year, for the first time ever, and a share of the Sun belt Championship. Arkansas State is off a four win season a year ago and was not projected to be at, or near, the top of the Sun belt Conference. However, they have surprised us with a 4-2 overall record thus far this year. The Red Wolves have been markedly improved on defense.  Their two losses vs. Illinois and Virginia Tech, both top caliber teams, saw them allow an average of less than 30ppg.  This is quite a feat for a Sun Belt team. The Panthers managed just 27 points vs. Akron, a team that has allowed 31 or to the four div-1 teams on their schedule this year. They also scored just 27 against Duke a team that has allowed 27 or more to 14 of their last 19 opponents. Arkansas State is 7-1 to the UNDER in their last eight and are also 18-7-1 to the UNDER in their last 26 following a straight up win. These teams have had a series of defensive battles with the UNDER prevailing in four of the last five meetings. UNDER gets the call in this one.
