Florida Atlantic at Michigan State

Florida Atlantic returns only four starters from an offense that fizzled near the end of the 2023 season. The Owls averaged only 12 points their final three games and they went UNDER by 11.2 points per game. Michigan State also stayed UNDER its final three games while scoring a total of 27 points as the Spartans suffered through a 4-8 season. The good news for the Spartans is they return most of the linebacking and defensive backfield corps. Jonathan Smith is the new coach after turning around the Oregon State program and he'll need to vastly improve the offense as the Spartans averaged just 16 points per game while allowing 28. Florida Atlantic lost three quarterbacks to the transfer portal and the Owls scored only 23.8 points per game in 2023 compared to 29.8 the year before.
