Eastern Michigan at Minnesota

Minnesota opened with a 13-10 win over Nebraska in a game that stayed UNDER by 20 points and the Golden Gophers are 5-2 UNDER their past seven games. The Cornhuskers actually outgained Minnesota 295-251, but the Gopher defense forced four tunrovers. Athan Kaliakmanis completed 24 of 44 for 196 yards for the Gophers, who picked off Jeff Sims three times and held him to 114 passing yards. The UNDER is 7-1-1 in Minnesota's past nine games as a favorite and it has allowed an average of just 10.7 points its past seven games dating to last season and seven defensive starters return. Eastern Michigan prevailed over Howard 33-23, but did not cover the 20.5-point spread. Austin Smith threw for 175 yards and a touchdown with an interception for the Eagles, who return only four offensive starters. Eastern Michigan has some experience back on defense, although the Eagles allowed 28 points per game in 2022. However, don't expect many points to be scored against the opportunistc Gopher defense.
