These are a pair of teams that love to chuck the football in the air. East Carolina has senior QB Philip Nelson (seven TDs, three INTs), while tallying 101 points in three games. Nelson wasn't with the team last year, transferring from Minnesota, but he joins a team that was second in the nation in pass completion percentage in 2015 (67.9%). However, the defense is a soft spot, allowing 30 points to NC State along with 282 yards passing, 215 rushing -- a whopping 6.9 yards per carry. But they won the game scoring 33 points as QB Nelson was 33-of-43 passing. Speaking of passing they run into a Virginia Tech team with a new look on offense. New coach Justin Fuente brings an up-tempo, spread offense he used at Memphis. Former junior college QB Jerod Evans was the nation's #1 dual-threat QB and has taken to the system with 10 TDs, one pick and 688 yards in three games. RB Travon McMillian ran for over 1,000 yards last year (5.2 yards per carry) and provides balance with 202 yards (5.2 ypc) while the passing game has three receivers with over 100 yards. They just hung 49 points on a talented Boston College defense, part of a 9-4 run OVER the total at home. Play this one to finish OVER the total.
