The Blazers have been a better team since the insertion of QB Bryan Ellis. Despite the offensive improvement, Ellis still throws to many bad balls with 9 INTs, and the Blazers’ defense doesn't stand very tall. Last week at home they gave up 31 points to a Marshall team that was a season high, and to a team that didn't score more than 16 in any of their last four games. They now must turn around and play a team with a better offense. The Pirates simply play to outscore opponents. The four teams they were unsuccessful against are all far superior to UAB. The Pirates lost to Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Central Florida and Navy. They beat Marshall team by 27 and average over 45 points per game in conference play. As a road underdog of 7 or less, the Pirates ahve covered 18 of their last 22! I think East Carolina pulls off the small upset here.
