East Carolina vs. Boston College

MILITARY BOWL - East Carolina squeezed out a winning record despite a defense that allowed 28+ points eight times and over 30 five times. The defense ranked #81 in total yards (397.6 per game) and rush 'D' (161.3), and they were also #63 in points (25.7 per game). They were 3-6 and 4-8 the previous two seasons, stepping up once to play the ACC in a 34-6 loss to NC State. By contrast, Boston College played a tougher schedule and finished 31st in total yards allowed, 33rd in points surrendered, and fourth in the nation in pass defense. They've had a month to rest and prepare, which is key as it allowed injured QB Phil Jurkovec to heal after missing half the season. When he plays, BC has a very good and balanced pro-style attack with explosive WR Zay Flowers, an NFL prospect. Boston College comes off a bad loss to Wake Forest, but is a strong bounce-back team at 19-6 ATS after allowing 40+ points and 13-3 ATS after gaining 75 or fewer passing yards in the last game.
