NEW MEXICO BOWL
It has been nine years since Washington State has played in a Bowl game. After wearing out his welcome at Texas Tech, Mike Leach has brought Washington State back into respectability. Colorado State has not been to a Bowl in four years. The Rams have a much-improved offense in the second half of the season. They rank 50th in the country in yards, out-gaining their opponents on the season, and have averaged 35.3 points per game. Washington State has been able to average just shy of 30 points per game. The most impression part of it is that they accomplished it against the fourth most difficult schedule in the country. These teams can both move the ball. Washington State was favored in just four games this season, but scored 40 points or more in all four while not reaching 40 as a dog at any time. The Rams, meanwhile, have gone for 52+ in four games on the season, and this one should be fun to watch. I expect a shootout here. Colorado State is 8-1 to the OVER in their last nine road games on turf. Meanwhile, Washington State is 17-7 OVER in their last 24 on turf. In his coaching career, Leach is 40-21 OVER when facing a good passing offense (teams like CSU that average 58%+ completions). He's also 23-6 OVER vs. teams that get over 6.2 yards per play (the Rams average 6.3 per play). Make the play here on the OVER.
