Colorado at California

While the 24-3 easy win vs. Colorado State looks impressive on paper, the Buffalo's did not look very good. The offense struggled and statistically they out-gained the Rams by less than 75 total yards. The running game generated just 3.3 yards per carry and the saving grace was three INTs thrown by CSU's Pete Thomas, playing his first game. California isn't going to be so ineffective on offense. This is a team that topped the 30-point mark six times against much stronger competition and has nine back on offense, including QB Kevin Riley in his fifth year in the program (third as starter). Shane Vereen can run the football. When Jahvid Best was injured, he ran off close to 1000 yards and 12 TDs, so the Buffs will have their hands full here. Colorado's offense reached 30 points just three times a year ago, while allowing 30 on seven different occasions. This looks to be another. Cal is 10-1 ATS the past couple of seasons when they reach 30+ on offense. Meanwhile, Dan Hawkins is just 2-9 ATS on the road after a win here at Colorado.  I like Cal in this one.
