Clemson demolished Furman 48-7 and limited the Paladins to a meager 2.6 yards per play and 163 total yards. The Tigers have the best defensive line in the country, including Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins and the Tigers return eight starters overall on the defensive side. Texas A&M also returns eight defensive starters and has a new coach in Jimbo Fisher and new defensive coordinator in Mike Elko, who left Notre Dame after one season. The front seven is solid for the Aggies and the secondary will be improved. The Aggies held Northwestern State to 1.6 yards per rush and 251 yards of total offense. Clemson went 8-2-1 UNDER its last 11 games in 2017 and allowed only 14 points per game on the season and the Tigers defense has allowed an average of just 17.8 points per game the last four years. Notably, the Tigers while losing to Alabama in the playoff, still held the Crimson Tide to 24 points and the game went UNDER by 16.5 points.
