Charlotte at Rice

Both teams are 1-3, but Rice has looked worse against an easier schedule than Charlotte has faced. The Owls own a blowout win over Texas Southern, but have been outscored 104-35 their other three games, including a 37-14 rout by Army last week. Rice QB E.J. Warner threw two TD passes, but also was picked off twice and the Owls were outgained 408-297 and rushed for only 41 net yards. Charlotte couldn't get anything going against Indiana and Trexler Ivey threw for only 119 yards and a TD. Rice is 0-5 ATS its past five games after allowing fewer than 170 passing yards its previous game. The 49ers have covered six of their past eight road Saturday games. Ivey was off his game against the Hoosiers, but he still has a 162.4 QB rating this season with three TD passes. Rice has not shown it should be laying this many points. Take Charlotte.
