Charlotte at Massachusetts

After opening the season with a blowout win vs. the FCS Duquesne Dukes, the UMass Minutemen have now been blown out in all three of their games vs. FBS squads. UMass is losing by over 30 points per game. They have even bigger problems for this one as their top player and QB was injured and left last game, and is questionable for this one, as is his backup Ross Comis. That leaves UMass perhaps down to a third string QB to start this one. Charlotte is 2-1. after a three-point win over Old Dominion last week. Charlotte has struggled to defend the pass, so that is good news, as they are allowing just 3.3 yards per rush on the season through three games. UMass has been disappointing, and are far from a confident group heading into this one, which should be much tighter than it looks. Take the points on Charlotte.
