Central Michigan at Northern Illinois

Central Michigan has won and covered the last four meetings - all as an underdog, but this time the Chippewas are getting nearly two touchdowns even though they have covered the number six of their last eight games dating to last season.  Northern Illinois is 0-2 and has scored a total of 13 points its first two games against Iowa and Utah.  Admittedly, Central Michigan has played slightly weaker competition against Kansas and Kentucky, but the Chippewas are averaging 267.5 yards per game offensively compared to 219.5 for the Huskies. Marcus Childers was 18 of 33 for 111 yards with no touchdowns and an interception against Utah and the Huskies managed only 2.7 yards per carry.  The Chippewas have covered the spread five conference games in a row and NIU is 1-11-1 ATS its last 13 games after losing by at least 10 points at home. CMU has covered five of its last six road games and the Huskies are 1-4 ATS their last five conference games.  Northern Illinois is laying too many points in this matchup and play Central Michigan.
