Marshall opened the season in disastrous fashion, losing to in-state rival West Virginia 69-34. In watching what WVU has done since then, we have come to learn that the score of that game doesn't look as bad as it did then. Marsahll has gone on to play even at 3-3 in their last six games, and have not been beaten badly by anyone. They have losses to a very good Tulsa team by just 7, an unbeaten Ohio team by just 3, and to Purdue on the road by just 10. So, the Thundering Herd can be more than just competitive here vs. Central Florida who comes in at 5-2. The Knight's haven't exactly walked all over the teams they should have. They needed overtime at home vs. winless Sothern Miss, and they beat a very weak Sun Belt team in Florida International by just 13. Central Florida is a lot more vulnerable than their 5-2 record would indicate, and Marshall is a lot better than their 3-4 mark and can win here. The Knights are just 6-20 ATS after allowing 200+ rushing yards, and 0-8 ATS after allowing 170 or less passing yards in their last contest. The Herd is standing tall as they are 11-0-1 ATS at home vs. a team with a winning road mark. UCF's George O'Leary is 5-17 ATS in his coaching career on the road following back-to-back ATS losses. Upset time - play on Marshall. Take them at +3 with extra juice if you can.
