California at Stanford

This is a huge rivalry game. Who can forget the most dramatic finish ever on November 20, 1982 when the Stanford band prematurely stormed the field only to get in the way of a crazy kickoff return for a touchdown. That game was close. Times have changed. California brings little if anything to the table to this rivalry in 2013. Stanford is one of the top teams in the country and they are going to be looking for someone on which to take their frustrations after their loss to USC last week. The Cardinal was once again the first to knock off Oregon this season and they remain a force. They will be in an ornery mood here, and the nature of this game is such that there will absolutely be no letdown. That bodes poorly for a Cal team that has already suffered punishing losses by 28, 39, 32 and 34 points this season. And now they catch an elite Stanford team in a bad mood with no mercy against its arch rival. Cal has gone 5-14 ATS the past three seasons vs. winning teams. Meanwhile, over that same span, the Cardinal are 12-2 ATS vs. poor pass defenses like Cal's (those allowing 58%+ completions). Lay the points and play on Stanford.
